Life-wide Learning

For many years, the department of Chinese History has been initiating multiple school activities and competitions to enhance students’ development of deep thinking thus understanding of our homeland’s traditional culture. For example, in the 2023/24 school year:

1. 4 to 6 groups were formed in every class from F.1 to develop a travel brochure of a trip to visit “The Silk Road” for 5 days and 4 nights. In addition, to facilitate F.1 students to have a better understanding on traditional Chinese women, the arts of folding paper and decoration painting related to the Tang dynasty were introduced.

2. F.2 students were invited to join a competition in which they were asked to build a 3-D model of the Great Wall of China with what they learnt from class or through the internet. A winner of the 3-D model of the Great Wall of China was first elected from each class to enter the inter-class competition. The judges, Principal Dr. Ng Ka Man and Head of the Academic Team Miss Hung Wing Yan, finally awarded class 2B to be the champion, class 2D to be the first runner-up and 2A group 2 to be the second runner-up.
