Curriculum Features

Citizenship and Social Development helps students understand the situation in Hong Kong, China and the contemporary world. By connecting the knowledge learned in junior forms during the learning process, students can understand, study and explore different topics from multiple perspectives, thereby constructing knowledge and establishing solid knowledge and cultivating students with a broad knowledge base, and cultivate students’ national identity.

Life-wide Learning

(1) Secondary 4 and 5 students visited Nantou Ancient City in Shenzhen to learn about the country’s development in recent years and its achievements in revitalizing historic sites and preserving cultural relics.

(2) Students visited courtrooms and restricted areas of the Hong Kong Court of Final Appeal to learn its history and architectural features. This activity increased their understanding of the principle of the rule of law.

External Collaborations

The Mainland Study Tour of Citizenship and Social Development was held from April 2 to April 3. All Form 5 students travelled to Shenzhen for two days. The students visited the Shenzhen Reform and Opening Up Exhibition Hall, Shenzhen Museum, Longgang District Science and Technology Museum, Gankeng Hakka Ancient Town. Through on-site inspection activities, students learned first-hand about the latest developments in our country and enhanced students’ national identity.
